Campaign Platform

The primary goal of my campaign is to attain Better Representation for our District. I've realized that this requires more than just selecting a candidate.  We need to provide Voters with the tools and information to participate in Citizen Oversight in order to achieve Accountability from Congress.

I want to provide each and every voter with the ability to review the Legislative work of their Congress member, and either Approve or disapprove each Bill.

In addition, I want to provide the voter with a Comparison Report showing how the Congress Member stacks up against the voters wishes and against the Total wishes of all constituents in the district.

So far, this capability is only available to folks online; www.My-Representative.org. It will take an Act of Congress to get My-Rep reports and others from Opensecrets.org and the Sunlight Foundation into the hands of voters at Election time.

If elected, I will Sponsor & Champion Legislation to recommend that each State include Congressional Reports with the sample ballot materials. Voters have a right to know the services they are getting!

Yes this information will dramatically change our democracy. This will challenge many paradigms.

Voters will actually be re-electing incumbents based on the work that they do, rather than:

• the promises they have made,
• the party they are in,
• the number of times they've shown up at the farmers market,
• or simply name recognition.
   

Yes, we are talking about increasing the proficiency of every American Voter.
